A Gift of Prophecy On The Love Ship

When my husband and I boarded the cruise ship for a fun trip, I never dreamed I would interact in God’s behalf with  a complete stranger! An amazing prayer adventure ended in an amazing prophesy to a young bartender.

I’d met Simon only once, the  first night on the ship when he came to ask if we wanted to order. I was shocked during an afternoon prayer time when the Holy Spirit kept his face before me. I’m always awestruck that I get to be there when God begins to reach for  a soul He loves! I knew I had to pray for Simon, and shocked to find myself including his mom! I knew  nothing about her!  God’s love grew in my heart for both of them.

As I prayed for his mom, pictures of pins, needles and thread came to mind. I was being told she was a seamstress by profession! A line from an old song played in my head:  When God dips His pen of love in my heart, He writes my soul a message He wants me to know. God was intervening with Simon through a Biblical gift: the Word of Knowledge, as delivered by prophecy! I Cor.  12.

My assignment was to go give this message to Simon…BUT how could I ever find him on this big ship? He mentioned he worked different shifts at different locations all over the ship. While deep in thought, a sudden overwhelming urge hit me to go email my two sons immediately. When I found the computer area, Simon was standing there!

We started talking and he said he was not a church-goer because as a child he found the Church of England dull and boring. I asked him if his mom was a seamstress. With a shocked look, he said “YES. That’s her profession! Even our family name is Taylor!” I told him God showed this to me during my prayer time that day. He was very touched. I told him all this was happening so God could show him how much He loved both of them, and how real He was – and that He was not boring or dull!

God showed me the mom’s profession so Simon could believe what God was about to do next! The presence of the Lord was strong as I prophesied: “God loves you and your mom and has an interest in your life. As you draw close to God, He will draw close to you, and His plan will unfold for your life, a plan that is so much better than what is in place at the present time.” I explained that God had given me these words also to bring comfort to them.

The last I saw of Simon, he was very excited and in awe. He left to email his mom in London immediately. Amazing love came through Jesus…and we are His ambassadors!   (2 Cor  5:19-21).
